Enlightened Students are students who show enthusiasm for math and have perseverance when it comes to problem solving. Instead of looking at a problem and deciding that it "appears too hard," enlightened students embrace the challenges and solve the problem.
A new MathCounts Problem of the Week is posted every Monday (see Related Links below). If you solve the problems and submit a one page report by Monday of the following week (before the solutions are posted), you will earn Enlightened status and earn a spot on the Wall of Fame. Once a student has earned the title of Enlightened Math Student, they retain that title, and all of its privileges throughout their middle school years.

*Any students wishing to earn "Enlightened" status can do so by solving the current "Problem of the Week." All documentation and work must be submitted to Mr. Ahrens, with answers and explanations clearly written, by Monday of the following week. Once answers are posted on the MathCounts website (Tuesday mornings), work will be no longer accepted for that problem.
